Interrupting with a Break!

This week we’re taking a break from my Sustainable Fashion series to focus on current events.

I know by now we’ve all been flooded with information about COVID-19 and all the things we should or shouldn’t be doing.  It’s all very confusing and is literally changing daily.  But let’s pause and reflect on what’s truly important.

You might find yourself like me, with much more time at home.  I have a full time job on top of this little biz and we started working from home this week.  It’s a little tricky to do my job remotely but I’m managing and choosing to focus on the positives!  I was able to make myself a nutritious breakfast while I answer emails.  I had laundry going while I did my daily work.  The dishwasher was emptied while I made lunch.  I finished my work on time and was able to just walk upstairs and have dinner ready by the time my hubby got home.  It was great!  The extra time is allowing me to stay on top of more household tasks right now so I have my evenings free to spend with family or work on this business!

Tomorrow, I hope to get up a little earlier to get in a workout which seldom happens!  Maybe I’ll be able to enjoy a book over lunch tomorrow?  Or spend that hour sewing?

Maybe both you and your spouse are working from home and you can spend lunch together.  Check in with each other throughout the day.  Or spend more precious time with your kids because they are growing and changing every day!  Get them outside or read with them.  Enjoy a game together in the evenings.

Check in on your neighbors.  Do they need help getting necessities?  Are they all alone and could use a friendly face to deliver lunch?

Whatever you choose to do, try to stay positive!  Don’t let all the panic and hysteria bring you down.  Focus on what this precious extra time affords you instead.  Take care of your neighbors.  Take care of your family.  Check-in on yourself.  Let’s spread joy and hope through the community during this time!
